CLUB GALA 27th March 2025

The club gala is an annual event & usually a really good evening with lots of fun!  It is expected that all club swimmers will compete & that a parent/carer will help out with the event.  

Structure of the afternoon/evening

3.50-4pm children register & then go poolside to warm up

4.20pm first races start

6.30/7pm we aim to finish all the racing

7.15-7.45pm dinner at the Garth and medal/trophy presentations. 

Swimmers

This year there is a small trophy given to everyone swimming.  There are medals in each age category  8 and under, 9&10, 11&12, 13&14, 15+ for all 4 of the strokes.    Please wear usual swim kit & then when poolside (and not swimming) have shorts, t-shirt & some flip flops/crocks/clean shoes.  Do bring money for the snack table.   If for any reason you can’t attend, then we must know by 15th March as it affects the timing of events. 

Parents

Please donate an item for the raffle (bring poolside asap).  Please also on the day bring an item for the snack/cake table and some cash on the day for children to make their purchases. 

We would be grateful for some more help to man the snack table, timekeeping and raffle.. If you can let us know asap that would be amazing – even half an hour per person spreads the load. 

Thank you to those who have already offered to time keep / help poolside. 

Dinner: 

            As stated, after the gala, at 7:15pm, we are meeting at the Garth Hotel for food, prize giving and raffle!

            Please note the responsibility of getting your child from the CMC to the Garth lies with you, not  the swim club. 

Meal choices: We have put up a menu choice spreadsheet on the swim club notice board at CMC for the children to tick their choice – please remind them to do that at their next training sessions. They need to have chosen by Thursday 20th March

The swimmers meals are being paid for by the club. 

We have kept it simple for the hotel by having 3 choices: 

1. Macaroni cheese and garlic bread. 
2. Buttermilk Chicken burger with chips and salad or 
3. Fish goujons with chips and peas.

Parents/ families, it would be lovely if you join us to eat at the Garth to eat. Please see the attached menus adult and child for your information. You can pre-order by contacting the Garth but will need to settle payments directly with them. Please bear with the staff on the night as with the numbers involved despite preorder, there may be a little delay in serving up. Thank you.
