| Fee payments as now due from 1st September |
| As a reminder of Maike’s email on the 25th August, please could everyone restart standing orders to the swim club for 1st September. Swim term / swim year: The club’s swim year run from August 2024 to end June 2025 with payments starting from 1st September 2024 and finish at the end of June. Please can you set up a standing order, or similar, from the 1st of every month for this swim year, starting from 1st September 2024. If you have more than one child swimming, please set up separate standing orders for each child. Session cost: The session cost is as follows: Twice a week GBP 32.50 Three times a week GBP 40.00 Drop us a message on the contact us page for bank details |

| We would welcome as many parents as possible to attend and we are desperately needing parental support in order to keep the club running smoothly. As you will be aware there is a lot of work carried out behind the scenes by several parent volunteers just to keep the basics of the club running. However, to spread the load and allow other events like trips to happen we will need more input from parents. You do not need to know anything about swimming to do these roles and we can look at sharing certain roles too. Please try and attend the AGM and have a think about what you can offer to support the club. We are specifically looking at role of secretary and meet secretary as well as organisation of club trips a couple of times a year. |
| Other volunteers needed |
| “GoSwim” event at Loch Morlich beach is on Saturday 14th Sept. We need 6 older swimmers or parent helpers for marshalling, running the bag drop and other duties at the “GoSwim “event. In return they give up to £250 for swim club to go towards trips and other events. If you can help, please email Maike at maikeinkl@yahoo.com ASAP. |
| Summer Camp |
| Summer camp was a great success getting a lot of children back to swim fitness for restart of club session. On the back of that there was some new interest in the club and so a new entry time trial has been arranged for next Tuesday 3rd September 6:30pm-please help spread the word. |
| Meets |
| There are various meets happening this term including the secondary school meet in Inverness after the school holidays. More information to follow nearer the time. Buckie Meet September meet Sunday 29th September Please respond to the email by the 4th September. |
| Swim Teachers Course (SSTQ) |
| Duncan, Jack, Bjorn, Ellie, Gregor are all taking part in the swim teachers course starting in January. The course is 8 days long and the qualification is a Scottish Swimming Teacher Qualification. Well done to these swimmers to signing up for the course. |
| Helpers |
| Thanks to Isla, Maya, Duncan, Gregor, Bjorn, Annabelle, Jemima, Isobel, Craig, Rhona who are all helping swimmers and coaches this term on poolside. We appreciate you! Any parents (qualified or not!) who are free an hour to help outside poolside then see Cath or Kathryn. |
| Scottish Swimming Poolside Helpers Course |
| Thanks to Freddie and Kathryn for helping tutor on this course. Jack, Gregor, Ellie, Adam and Bjorn took this course through the summer and have a couple of practical assessments to complete before finishing off the qualification. Well done to these swimmers! Thank you also to Ronnie who is now updating times on our database (called Hytek) this helps us keep track of swimmers times and enter swim meets. |
