Swim club meet Buckie swimming pool
On Saturday 21st May we went to our first Swim Meet for a couple of years. We took a team of seven swimmers to Buckie Swimming pool where Elgin Swim Club were hosting the event. It was Leo Fry’s first time swimming at a swim competition and he swam a brilliant 50m front crawl with a personal best (PB) of 8 seconds and was awarded the bronze medal.

The other swimmers have all competed before. The whole team were in great form with medals won in….
50m butterfly a gold medal for Isla Collins and Duncan Sparham. A PB for Ellie Moore and Bjørn Flew (15 secs off previous times!)
100m backstroke a bronze medal for Bjørn and a 5th place with a 28 second PB for Harris Burke.
50m freestyle Isla a gold medal and Ellie in 5th place. For the boys Duncan a gold medal (in a great time of 29.87 seconds). Gregor Bateman & Harris have a PB of 27secs.
200m individual medley swim Ellie & Bjørn a silver medal.
50m backstroke Duncan & Isla a gold medal. Ellie a silver and Harris a bronze.
50m breaststroke Gregor gained a bronze medal.
100m freestyle Duncan a silver medal and Harris placed 4th, Bjørn 5th and Gregor 7th
Thanks to the consistent and enthusiastic support by the coaches over a long period of time with no Meets with other clubs. The whole Club is delighted that all the swimmers from the club returned home with at least one medal.

Nairn/Grantown friendly at the Aquadome 28th May 2022
A really well done to all the swimmers who swam at this meet. Everyone performed so well.
There were some great swims and some great PBs (personal best) times. For a lot of the club this was their first competition, and these swimmers should be very proud of their great achievement. Those who have competed a number of times – thank you for being so helpful with the team and for swimming so well. We really are proud to have swimmers all working and swimming so well together aged 9-17 years old.
Thanks to the coaches as well – there was lots to organise – we appreciate you! Thanks as well to all those who had a stopwatch and helped out with timekeeping. We will enter times onto our system and send around times/results.
THANK YOU!
Thank you to our team of coaches. Without Cath, Kathryn and Catriona along wtih our amazing team of assistant coaches in getting all our swimmers progressing and achieving a great level.
